Babs Seed is a student from Canterlot High, who only appears and serves as one of the main antagonists in the comic book, My Little Pony Annual 2013. She is Sunflower's younger sister, as well as cousins to Applejack, Big McIntosh, and Apple Bloom and granddaughter to Granny Smith.

Development

Her name is a play on words of the idiom "bad seed", which denotes an individual who behaves rudely and often brings misfortune to others.

Depictions in comics

Babs Seed only appears in the comic book, My Little Pony Annual 2013. She is one of the main antagonists, along with Sunflower, though Babs is considered a follower to her older sister. Her cousin Applejack meets them at lunch on the first day of school when she was a freshman. However, Babs and Sunflower are more concerned with Rarity, whose fashionista style is making her popular.

At lunch the next day, Rarity sits with Babs and Sunflower again. She calls over Applejack, who's still struggling to fit in, but Sunflower is quick to shoo her away. Fluttershy then enters and tries to join, and this time Babs speaks up, saying they "don't make friends with losers". Babs and Sunflower's insults cause Fluttershy to run away in tears, and Rarity and Applejack stay silent for fear of ruining their social standing. Which ended up lead to the three friends, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie drifted apart—each wrestling with their own personal or social problems.

Sunflower and Babs are present during the first soccer game of the season between the Wondercolts and the Shadowbolts. When Fluttershy finds Sunflower in the crowd, she tries to talk to her about her sick dog, but Sunflower ignores her and starts to insult her. Hearing this, Rarity and Applejack finally call both Sunflower and Babs out on their appalling behavior and offer Fluttershy their help. She last appeared on pg 47, where Sunflower brought her chihuahua to the Animal Clinic to get it's checkup by Fluttershy.

Consider that she didn't appear in any of the films, Babs Seed could possibly an alumni.

Personality

Babs Seed was one of the Equestria Girls' first CHS bullies before Sunset Shimmer. She was a snobby and rude teenage girl that secretly insults Applejack and her friends when they were freshmen, but Babs is considered a follower to her older sister. Both Sunflower and Babs are more concerned with Rarity when they first met her that they didn't let any of Rarity's friends to join them, especially Fluttershy where both sisters insults her the most.
