Curly Winds is the placeholder name for a male human who is a background character in the My Little Pony Equestria Girls franchise. He is an athlete student at Canterlot High School.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls[]

In My Little Pony Equestria Girls, Curly Winds first appears as one of the many Canterlot High School students crowding the foyer after the bell rings. During This Strange World, he appears with Cloudy Kicks laughing and later appears high-fiving Heath Burns. He subsequently appears in the cafeteria at a table with the other athletes. The following day, he appears walking toward the school with Teddy and getting surprised while entering the Sweet Shoppe by Rarity’s outburst. He sits with the other athletes during the Cafeteria Song. On the day of the CHS Fall Formal, he makes a background appearance walking in the hallway with Cloudy Kicks wearing Wondercolt ears and a tail. During Time to Come Together, he stabilizes Wiz Kid’s ladder as he tries to install a floodlight on the stage. He then appears giving a high-five to Crimson Napalm, cheering with the other students, and in the line to cast a vote for Princess of the Fall Formal. During the Formal, he dances before being brainwashed by Sunset Shimmer along with the rest of the attendees. After being freed by Twilight Sparkle and her new friends, he resumes dancing when the Fall Formal resumes.

Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks[]

In Rainbow Rocks, Curly Winds appears working on a poster for the CHS Musical Showcase in the gym with Wiz Kid. During Better Than Ever, he laughs when a pair of Wondercolt ears gets knocked onto his head off of that of Wiz Kid. During Battle of the Bands, he appears in the cafeteria when he and the other students are hypnotized by the Dazzlings. Later, he attends the party for the bands participating in the showcase, where he squabbles with Octavia Melody. He then makes several background appearances spectating the showcase. During the climax of the Battle of the Bands, he and the other spectators are brainwashed by the Dazzlings, but freed when they are defeated by the Rainbooms, and he sings along with Wiz Kid under his arm.

Rainbow Rocks animated shorts[]

In Pinkie on the One, Curly Winds makes a background appearance sitting in the CHS cafeteria with fellow athlete students. In Player Piano, he appears walking by the Wondercolt statue in front of the school with Teddy and later appears in the crowd of students clogging the school hallway. In Shake Your Tail, he appears attending the Rainbooms' concert in the gymnasium. In Perfect Day for Fun, he makes several background appearances attending the CHS carnival. In the encore short Life is a Runway, his silhouette appears in the audience during the fashion show sequence. In My Past is Not Today, he appears in Sunset Shimmer's flashback as one of the students ostracizing her. In Friendship Through the Ages, he appears in the audience during Rainbow Dash's verse.

Equestria Girls: Friendship Games[]

In Friendship Games, Curly Winds sits at a table with Wiz Kid in the library and they later appear sitting together in the gymnasium during the CHS pep rally. He later appears walking outside the school with Teddy and later appears twice walking inside the foyer with Wiz Kid. He then appears attending the Crystal Prep Academy welcome party, sitting by the Wondercolt statue with Cloudy Kicks and Captain Planet, and spectating the second event of the titular event with Wiz Kid. During the film credits, he and Wiz Kid appear in a photograph in front of CPA students during the welcome party.

Friendship Games animated shorts[]

In All's Fair in Love & Friendship Games, Curly Winds appears in front of the school with Wiz Kid as Sandalwood informs them and the other students about tryouts for the Friendship Games. He later appears watching the tryouts. In Photo Finished, he makes a background appearance sitting in the cafeteria with other athletes.

In Dance Magic, Curly Winds makes a background appearance standing by a jewelry store at the Canterlot Mall with Wiz kid.

Equestria Girls: Mirror Magic[]

In Mirror Magic, Curly Winds makes several background appearances as a patron of the Canterlot Mall, walking near the fountain, standing with Heath Burns, talking to Wiz Kid, walking in the halls, and getting scared by a transformed Juniper Montage.

In A Photo Booth Story, Curly Winds appears laughing with other athlete boys while attending the Fall Formal. In Raise this Roof, he appears dancing at the formal, watching the dance off, and cheering for Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. In Steps of Pep, he appears in the audience with Wiz Kid for a mixed-gender soccer game between CHS and CPA. In Shake Things Up!, he briefly appears walking by Applejack's juice bar at the Canterlot Mall. In The Art of Friendship, he briefly appears walking outside the school with Teddy. In The Canterlot Movie Club, he makes a background appearance talking to Cloudy Kicks, Norman, and Mystery Mint at the Canterlot Mall movie theater lobby. In Epic Fails, he appears in the cafeteria eating at a table with other athletes. In Coinky-Dink World, he and Wiz Kid appear as patrons at the Sweet Snacks Cafe sitting at a table with Lyra Heartstrings and Sweetie Drops. In Good Vibes, he makes a background appearance walking on the second floor of the Canterlot Mall with Wiz Kid.

In School of Rock, Curly Winds attends a school field trip to the Canterlot Natural History Museum. In A Fine Line, he and Wiz Kid appear lifting weights while waiting in line to the video game store at the Canterlot Mall. In Queen of Clubs, he makes several appearances in the CHS hallway standing with Wiz Kid and later Track Starr and also appears as a member of the school cheerleading club. In Star Crossed, he and Wiz Kid make a background appearance sitting at the fountain in front of the Canterlot Planetarium. In Display of Affection, he appears in the crowd of people looking at Flanksy’s graffiti art. In Super Squad Goals, he and Wiz Kid appear in Sunset Shimmer’s comic book, standing outside the Canterlot Natural History Museum.

In the Twilight Sparkle ending of Best Trends Forever, he and Wiz Kid appear as two of the students carrying Micro Chips while participating in the smart chic trend before running off. In the Rainbow Dash ending, he makes a background appearance wearing a rainbow wig in the school hallway with Wiz Kid. In Opening Night and Happily Ever After Party, he appears in the audience for the CHS fall play.

Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship[]

In Forgotten Friendship, Curly Winds appears standing in a CHS hallway with Norman and Nolan North during We've Come So Far. He later appears in the crowd of students watching Trixie and Sunset Shimmer face off, sitting in the cafeteria, and in a yearbook photo. During Invisible, he appears in a photo with Wiz Kid.

Equestria Girls: Rollercoaster of Friendship[]

In Rollercoaster of Friendship, Curly Winds first appears looking at his phone while leaning on a lamppost outside the Canterlot Mall. He later makes several background appearances as a patron of Equestria Land, usually either with Wiz Kid or Track Starr.

In Street Chic, Curly Winds briefly appears walking by the Carousel Boutique shivering in the cold fall air. In Best in Show: The Pre-Show, he and Wiz Kid appear in the audience for the first annual Canterlot Pet Show. In Schedule Swap, he appears painting during an art class and later appears sitting with Wiz Kid and Velvet Sky in the cafeteria. In Run to Break Free, he appears running in the school hallway with Heath Burns and later appears walking on the street with Wiz Kid.

In The Last Drop, he and Wiz Kid appear in the audience for DJ Pon-3's performance of Starswirl at the Starswirled Music Festival. In the Rarity ending of Lost and Pound, they appear standing by the festival food trucks and later sitting in the festival lounge area. In the Snips ending of Accountibilibuddies, they appear in the audience for Dirk Thistleweed’s performance. In the Rarity and Bulk Biceps endings of Sock It to Me, he appears as a spectator for a girls' soccer game between CHS and CPA.

Equestria Girls: Spring Breakdown[]

In Spring Breakdown, Curly Winds and Wiz Kid appear as passengers on the Luxe Deluxe cruise ship. They first appear as patrons in the ship’s shopping area and later appear on the ship’s deck after the power fails following the Rainbooms concert and are given flashlights by a crew member. Later, when the ship begins to sink, Curly Winds carries Wiz Kid out of the flooding hallway onto the deck where they are rescued by the Equestria Girls.

Equestria Girls: Sunset's Backstage Pass[]

In Sunset’s Backstage Pass, Curly Winds first appears playing with a hacky sack with Track Starr in front of Wiz Kid in the camping area of the Starswirled Music Festival. During the first day of the festival, he appears with Wiz Kid in the security line and standing by the neon maze. He later appears with Aqua Blossom, noticing when Sunset and Pinkie crash into Puffed Pastry’s churro stand. In subsequent time loops, he appears in the security line, in the audience for concerts by both PostCrush and the Dazzlings, and sitting in the lounge area, and walking from the food trucks, often in the company of Wiz Kid. During the final time loop, he and Wiz Kid are seen in the security line, getting churros from Puffed Pastry, and spectating PostCrush’s performance with Sunset and Pinkie.

Equestria Girls: Holidays Unwrapped[]

In "Saving Pinkie's Pie", Curly Winds briefly takes part in a big snowball fight. In "Winter Break-In", he made a small background cameo with Wiz Kid at the Canterlot Mall. In "Dashing Through the Mall", he gave Wiz Kid a present which in return receives a warm hug from him at the mall.
