In Friendship Games, Marco Dafoy first appears in yearbook photos as a member of the Crystal Prep Academy Shadowbolts team in a previous iteration of the Friendship Games, victorious against Canterlot High School in soccer, tennis and golf. Marco Dafoy then appears talking to other students in the Crystal Prep hallway and jogging with physical education students in the school foyer during What More Is Out There?. He later attends the CPA welcome party at the Canterlot High School gym and appears as a spectator in the first two events of the current Friendship Games.

In Pinkie Spy, Marco Dafoy appears training with the other members of the Crystal Prep track team on the school soccer field as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie spy on them. After their cover is blown, he and the other track members watch as they flee.
