Norman

Norman is the placeholder name for a male human who is a background character in the My Little Pony Equestria Girls franchise. He is a fashionista student at Canterlot High School.

In Equstria Girls, Norman first appears in the crowd of students filling the Canterlot High School foyer when the bell rings. During This Strange World, he is seen holding hands with Blueberry Cake while walking in the hallway. When Twilight Sparkle first encounters Sunset Shimmer, she intimidates him into hiding in a locker. He later appears sitting with the other fashionistas in the cafeteria. The following day, he appears walking towards the school with other fashionistas, entering the school, and sitting with Scott Green outside the Sweet Shoppe. He somehow appears sitting inside the Sweet Shoppe during Rarity's outburst. He later appears in the cafeteria during the Cafeteria song. On the day of the Fall Formal, he appears walking outside the Carousel Boutique, standing in the newly cleaned-up gym, and attending the Fall Formal, where he and the other attendees are hypnotized by Sunset Shimmer. After Twilight and her new friends defeat her, Norman is freed from the hypnosis along with the other attendees and cheers for Twilight as she is crowned Princess of the Fall Formal.

Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks[]

In Rainbow Rocks, Norman first appears working on a poster for the CHS Musical Showcase with Golden Hazel and later appears walking outside the band room. During Battle, he and most of the other students are put under the Dazzlings' spell in the cafeteria. He later appears walking in the school foyer, sitting with Aqua Blossom at the Sweet Shoppe and attending the party for the showcase participants. During the Battle of the Bands itself, he appears as a spectator, booing the Rainbooms when they win the semi-finals, and getting hypnotized with the rest of the audience by the Dazzlings during the finals. He and the other audience members are then freed from the Dazzlings' spell in the film's climax by the Rainbooms.

Rainbow Rocks animated shorts[]

In Pinkie on the One, Norman makes a background appearance sitting with other fashionistas in the CHS cafeteria. In Player Piano, he makes a background appearance walking towards the school with other fashionistas and also appears in the crowd of students in the hallway. He gets knocked over when Rarity and the Diamond Dogs push a piano through the hallway. In Shake Your Tail!, he attends the Rainbooms' concert in the gym. In Perfect Day for Fun, he makes several background appearances attending the CHS Carnival, often holding cotton candy. In Life is a Runway, he makes a background appearance standing on the street with Starlight, who blushes in front of him.

Equestria Girls: Friendship Games[]

In Friendship Games, Norman attends the Canterlot High pep rally in the gym as well as the Crystal Prep Academy welcome party. He later appears standing with Aqua Blossom in front of the school and appears as a spectator for all three events of the Friendship Games. During the film credits, he appears in photographs taken at the rally and the welcome party.

Friendship Games animated shorts[]

In All's Fair in Love & Friendship Games, Norman appears exiting the front of the school with Starlight and later appears looking at the bulletin board at the list containing the roster for the Friendship Games.

Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree[]

In Legend of Everfree, Norman makes a cameo appearance standing in line with Paisley at the entrance to the Crystal Gala fundraiser for Camp Everfree.

Equestria Girls: Mirror Magic[]

In Mirror Magic, Norman makes several background appearances as a patron of the Canterlot Mall, standing with an unnamed boy at the food court, standing in the movie theater, and running away from Juniper Montage.

Equestria Girls: Summertime Shorts[]

In Raise This Roof, Norman appears cheering during the dance-off at the Fall Formal. In Steps of Pep, he spectates a CHS-CPA soccer game and later spectates a chess game between Velvet Sky and Varsity Trim. When Velvet Sky wins, he and the other spectators carry her away. In Subs Rock, he attends a class with Principal Celestia as the substitute teacher. In The Canterlot Movie Club, he appears in the Canterlot Mall movie theater with Cloudy Kicks, Curly Winds, and Mystery Mint. In Epic Fails, he appears in the CHS library in Rarity and Sunset Shimmer's story seeing Sunset bite a plant and then getting shocked by the spinach in between Rarity's teeth upon sitting in front of her.

Equestria Girls: Digital Series (season 1)[]

In School of Rock, Norman attends a field trip to the Canterlot Natural Hisory Museum. In A Fine Line, he plays cards with Captain Planet while waiting in line to the video game store at the Canterlot Mall. In Display of Affection, he appears in the crowd looking at Flanksy's window displays at the Carousel Boutique. In Pinkie Pie: Snack Psychic, he appears as a patron of the Sweet Snacks Café sitting with Cherry Crash and Mystery Mint.

In Text Support, Norman appears walking in the school after the bell rings and later standing outside the school with Rose Heart, seeing Snips and Snails walk by covered in frosting. In the Pinkie Pie ending of Stressed in Show, he makes a background appearance sitting in the school cafeteria with Heath Burns. In Opening Night and Happily Ever After Party, he appears in the audience for the CHS fall play.

Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship[]

In Forgotten Friendship, Norman makes a background appearance standing in a school hallway with Curly Winds and Nolan North during We've Come So Far. After the school's positive memories of Sunset Shimmer are erased, he glares at Sunset while walking by her in the school hallway. He later appears in the library and in yearbook photos. Near the end of the special, he appears talking to Rose Heart in front of the school, talking to Blueberry Cake in the school parking lot, and looking through a yearbook with other students while leaning on the former Wondercolt statue.

Equestria Girls: Rollercoaster of Friendship[]

In Rollercoaster of Friendship, Norman makes several background appearances as a patron of Equestria Land. He appears standing near the parade preparation area, standing near the roller coaster, in security camera in a line to an attraction, standing with Rose Heart as they notice other patrons walk toward the light parade, watching the light parade, and watching Rarity model at a fashion show during Photo Booth.

Equestria Girls: Digital Series (season 2)[]

In Schedule Swap, Norman appears hammering a small table in a wood shop class, looking at something burning from a stove with Indigo Wreath during a home economics class, and finally sitting in the CHS cafeteria with Blueberry Cake. In Run to Break Free, he appears walking inside the school with Crimson Napalm and later appears leaning beside the former Wondercolt statue. In Five Lines You Need to Stand In, he appears standing in the security line to the Starswirled Music Festival. In all three endings of Sock It to Me, he appears as a spectator for a CPA-CHS soccer game. In the Bulk Biceps ending, he faints upon smelling Bulk Biceps' smelly sock.

Equestria Girls: Holidays Unwrapped[]

In "Winter Break-In", Norman briefly appears at the Canterlot Mall in the background with Track Starr by the mall fountain. In "Dashing Through the Mall", he makes two background cameo appearances at the mall. In "O Come, All Ye Squashful", he briefly appears at CHS walking at the school foyer.
