Starlight is the placeholder name for a female human who is a background character in the My Little Pony Equestria Girls franchise. She is an eco-kid student at Canterlot High School.

In Equestria Girls, Starlight first appears during This Strange World, standing on the stairs at Canterlot High School as Captain Planet speaks to her and later appears eating watermelon while sitting with the other eco-kids in the CHS cafeteria. The next day, she appears entering the school and sits with the other eco-kids during the Cafeteria song. She later appears in the gym after it is cleaned up and appears attending the Fall Formal, during which she and the other students are hypnotized by Sunset Shimmer into being her personal army to invade Equestria. They are freed when Twilight Sparkle and her new friends defeat Sunset Shimmer.
Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks[]
In Rainbow Rocks, Starlight appears in the CHS hallway carrying art supplies to the gymnasium with Wiz Kid, where she appears working on a poster for the CHS musical showcase with Bright Idea and Mystery Mint. During Better Than Ever, she appears walking through the CHS hallway talking to Wiz Kid. During Battle of the Bands, she appears in the cafeteria as the Dazzlings begin to hypnotize the students. She later attends the musical showcase where she and the other students are further brainwashed by the Dazzlings. After she and the other students are freed from the spell by the Rainbooms, they boo the Dazzlings after they lose their singing ability. She later appears in the audience when Trixie attempts to make her escape from the amphitheater.

In Music to My Ears, Starlight briefly appears reading in the Sweet Shoppe. In Pinkie on the One, she makes a background appearance sitting with other eco-kids at the CHS cafeteria. In Player Piano, she appears in the crowd of students crowding the CHS hallway. In Shake Your Tail!, she attends the Rainbooms' concert in the school gym. In Perfect Day for Fun, she makes a cameo appearance in a line to a photo booth at the Canterlot High carnival. In the encore short Life is a Runway, she appears standing on a sidewalk with Norman and blushing in front of him. In the encore short Friendship Through the Ages, she appears in the audience during Rainbow Dash's verse.
Equestria Girls: Friendship Games[]
In Friendship Games, Starlight first appears in the gymnasium during the CHS Rally Song. She later has a speaking role greeting the human Twilight Sparkle as she arrives at CHS from Crystal Prep Academy, mistaking her for Princess Twilight Sparkle. She later attends the CHS Welcome Party, appears in the hallway walking with Paisley and listening to the announcement for the first day of the Friendship Games and spectating the first two events. At the end of the film, she appears walking outside the front of the school with Paisley and Sweet Leaves. During the film credits, she appears in photographs during the CHS pep rally and in Scribble Dee's selfie taken in Cranky Doodle's class.

In All's Fair in Love & Friendship Games, Starlight appears exiting the school with Norman and later watching tryouts for the Friendship Games.
Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree[]
In Legend of Everfree, Starlight attends the school field trip to Camp Everfree. She makes several background appearances emptying a large bag, sitting on a picnic table with Captain Planet, walking near the rock climbing wall with Watermelody as the ground begins to quake, and holding a paper lantern. When Gloriosa Daisy encases the camp in brambles, she strokes her chin during We Will Stand For Everfree before she runs into the mess hall. She later appears entering the Crystal Gala fundraiser with Scott Green.
Equestria Girls: Mirror Magic[]
In Mirror Magic, Starlight makes several appearances at the Canterlot Mall in the food court, walking with Paisley and walking by her on the second floor.
Equestria Girls: Summertime Shorts[]
In Raise This Roof, Starlight appears with mis-colored yellow hair cheering during the dance-off at the Fall Formal. In Steps of Pep, she appears spectating a soccer game and later a chess game. When Velvet Sky wins the chess game, she and the other spectators lift her away. In Subs Rock, attends a class with Principal Celestia as the substitute teacher. In Shake Things Up!, she appears in the Canterlot Mall food court being attracted to Applejack's juice bar and procuring a smoothie. In Epic Fails, she appears in Twilight's story talking to Bright Idea outside a room in which Twilight causes a chemical explosion and also appears in the cafeteria seeing the Equestria Girls slip. In Good Vibes, she appears in the Canterlot Mall walking with Captain Planet and later laughing with Sweet Leaves.

In A Fine Line, she holds a tablet while standing outside a tent in a line to the video game store at the Canterlot Mall. In Overpowered, she appears with Watermelody in Fluttershy's memories seeing Fluttershy suddenly followed by several animals. In Star Crossed, she makes a background appearance standing with Sweet Leaves in the Canterlot Planetarium. In X Marks the Spot, she makes a background appearance playing on the beach with a beach ball with Sandalwood and Paisley. In Lost and Found, she appears walking and talking on the beach with Paisley. In Blue Crushed, she watches as Zephyr Breeze is saved from drowning. In Turf War, she makes a background appearance leaning on the beach boardwalk handrail with Paisley. In Forgotten Friendship, Starlight poses for a yearbook picture with Teddy taken by Sunset Shimmer during We've Come So Far. The next day, she plays with a beach ball with Paisley on the beach and later appears in the water. She later appears at the CHS entrance with Sophisticata, gossiping with Teddy about Sunset Shimmer after the school's memories are erased, watching as Micro Chips runs away from Sunset, sitting in the cafeteria, and in yearbook photos. Near the end of the special, after the school's memories are restored, she appears in the CHS parking lot looking at her phone, and later reading a yearbook in front of the school.

In Rollercoaster of Friendship, Starlight appears watching the Equestria Land light parade.

In Schedule Swap, Starlight makes a background appearance sitting in the CHS cafeteria. In I'm on a Yacht, she appears attending the pool party on the Luxe Deluxe and also appears riding in a small sailboat in front of the ship. In Run to Break Free, she makes a background appearance standing outside the school. In the Rarity ending of Lost and Pound, she appears talking to an unnamed man near the neon garden at the Starswirled Music Festival. In Accountibilibuddies, she appears in the audience for Dirk Thistleweed's band at the Starswirled Music Festival and also appears in the Pinkie Pie ending when Dirk himself performs. In the Rarity and Bulk Biceps endings of Sock It to Me, she appears as one of Rainbow Dash's teammates during a soccer game against Crystal Prep.

In Spring Breakdown, Starlight makes a background appearance in the Luxe Deluxe pool getting splashed by Pinkie Pie, and later appears lying on a floatie looking at Rainbow Dash.

In Sunset's Backstage Pass, Starlight appears in the security line of the Starswirled Music Festival during the first day of the festival. She subsequently appears in time loops of the first day of the festival in the security line, in the line to the restroom, and in the audience for PostCrush's concerts.
Equestria Girls: Holidays Unwrapped[]
In "Dashing Through the Mall", Starlight briefly appears at a kiosk in the Canterlot Mall as Rainbow Dash runs by at fast speed startling her. In "O Come, All Ye Squashful", she appears in the school hallway after the bell rings seeing the Equestria Girls in their cornucopia costumes, laughing at and taking pictures of the girls along with her fellow schoolmates.
