Thunderbass is the placeholder name for a male human who is a background character in the My Little Pony Equestria Girls franchise. He is a rocker student at Canterlot High School.

In Equestria Girls, Thunderbass first appears emerging from a cubicle in the boys' washroom at Canterlot High School and getting startled upon seeing Twilight Sparkle in the washroom during This Strange World. He later appears sitting on a table in the cafeteria holding a guitar with Flash Sentry and the other rockers. He also makes appearances as a customer at the Sweet Shoppe, in the cafeteria during the Cafeteria song, and in the school gym during and after Time to Come Together. He later appears attending the Fall Formal, where he and the other students are brainwashed by Sunset Shimmer into becoming her personal army to invade Equestria. After she is defeated by Twilight Sparkle and her new friends, he and the other students are freed from the hypnosis and resume enjoying the Fall Formal.
Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks[]
In Rainbow Rocks, Thunderbass appears walking towards Canterlot High School, in the cafeteria during Battle of the Bands, and attending the party for the bands participating in the musical showcase as part of a band with fellow rocker students Mystery Mint, Cherry Crash and Valhallen. They later appears spectating the battle of the bands, and are apparently eliminated in the first round by Trixie and the Illusions. While spectating the finals of the battle of the bands, he and the other audience members are hypnotized by the Dazzlings, but are freed when the Rainbooms break their spell.

In Music to My Ears, Thunderbass makes a background appearance sitting at a table with an unnamed girl outside a building, and later appears marching in the CHS hallway with DJ Pon-3 and Golden Hazel before walking into Cranky Doodle's class with the latter. In Pinkie on the One, he makes a background appearance sitting at a table in the CHS cafeteria with Crimson Napalm. In Player Piano, he makes a background appearance standing in the crowd of students of the CHS hallway as Rarity and the Diamond Dogs push through a piano. In Shake Your Tail!, he appears attending the Rainbooms' concert in the CHS gym. In Perfect Day for Fun, he makes several background appearances attending the CHS carnival generally accompanied by Captain Planet and Golden Hazel. In the encore short Friendship Through the Ages, he plays guitar in a band with Rainbow Dash during her verse.
Equestria Girls: Friendship Games[]
In Friendship Games, Thunderbass appears in the gymnasium for the CHS Rally Song and attending the welcome party for Crystal Prep Academy students, and walking towards the school. He later appears as a spectator for all three events of the Friendship Games. In the film credits, he appears in a photograph holding a cupcake at the CPA welcome party.

In Dance Magic, he makes a cameo appearance walking in the Canterlot Mall.

In A Photo Booth Story, Thunderbass appears dancing at the CHS Fall Formal. In Raise This Roof, he watches the dance-off at the Fall Formal. In Subs Rock, he attends a class with Principal Celestia as the substitute teacher. In Shake Things Up!, he makes a backgroud appearance at the Canterlot Mall food court. In The Art of Friendship, he attends an art class where he and the other students are disrupted by Pinkie Pie's drumming. In Good Vibes, he makes a background appearance walking in the Canterlot Mall with Valhallen.
Equestria Girls: Digital Series (season 1)[]
In School of Rock, Thunderbass appears in Cheerilee's class on a field trip to the Canterlot Natural History Museum. In A Fine Line, he appears waiting in line at the Canterlot Mall for the new Tirek's Revenge video game. In Star Crossed, he makes a cameo appearance walking in the Canterlot Planetarium with Valhallen. In Display of Affection, he appears in a crowd admiring Flanksy's grafitti on the side of a building. In the Pinkie Pie ending of Stressed in Show, he briefly appears walking in the CHS hallway. In Opening Night and Happily Ever After Party, he appears in the audience for the CHS school play.

In Forgotten Friendship, Thudnerbass appears walking in the CHS hallway during We've Come So Far. After the school's memories are erased by the memory stone, he appears glaring at Sunset Shimmer while sitting at a table in the CHS cafeteria with Velvet Sky. He later appears in yearbook pictures
Equestria Girls: Rollercoaster of Friendship[]
In Rollercoaster of Friendship, Thunderbass makes several background appearances talking to Sunny Flare at Equestria Land near the entrance of the park, near the parade preparation area of the park, by the rollercoaster and in security camera footage. He later appears by himself attending the park's light parade and his arm later appears taking a picture of Rarity modeling during a fashion show during Photo Booth.
Equestria Girls: Digital Series (season 2)[]
In Schedule Swap, Thunderbass makes a cameo appearance attending a cooking class on the first day of school. In Run to Break Free, he makes a background appearance talking to Velvet Sky in front of the school. In Five Lines You Need to Stand In, he appears in the security line at the Starswirled Music Festival. In the Rarity ending of Lost and Pound, he makes a background appearance in front of a food truck at the music festival with Crimson Napalm. In Accountibilibuddies, he watches Dirk Thistleweed's band perform at the music festival and also watches Dirk Thistleweed himself perform in the Pinkie Pie and Snips endings. In the Trixie and Bulk Biceps endings of Sock It to Me, he appears watching a soccer game between Crystal Prep and Canterlot High.
Equestria Girls: Sunset's Backstage Pass[]
In Sunset's Backstage Pass, Thunderbass makes a background appearance watching Dirk Thistleweed perform during the original first night of the Starswirled Music Festival.
Equestria Girls: Holidays Unwrapped[]
In "Dashing Through the Mall", Thunderbass makes a small background cameo waiting in a line at the Canterlot Mall. In "O Come, All Ye Squashful", he appears in the school foyer talking to Crimson Napalm and Valhallen which he and Valhallen received holiday cards from Crimson and later appears in the school hallway laughing at the Equestria Girls in their cornucopia costumes along with his fellow schoolmates.
