Velvet Sky is the placeholder name for a female human who is a background character in the My Little Pony Equestria Girls franchise. She is a techie student at Canterlot High School.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls[]

In Equestria Girls, Velvet Sky first appears walking and talking with Scribble Dee as two of the students suddenly filling the Canterlot High School foyer after the bell rings. They later appear again walking and talking together in the foyer when the bell rings again. She later appears sitting at a table in the cafeteria with the other techies, using a pager. The following day, she and Scribble Dee appear walking toward the school and they later appear together in the hallway laughing at Twilight Sparkle when she walks by. She later appears sitting in the cafeteria with the other techies during the Cafeteria song, in the gymnasium holding a pumpkin during Time to Come Together, holding hands with Cherry Crash as the song ends, and in the line to cast a vote for Princess of the Fall Formal. She later attends the Formal, where she and the other students are brainwashed by Sunset Shimmer, but freed after she is defeated by Twilight and her new friends. She later resumes dancing at the Formal when it resumes.

Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks[]

In Rainbow Rocks, Velvet Sky first appears in the gym working on a poster for the CHS Musical Showcase with Teddy and Captain Planet. During Better Than Ever, she appears walking and laughing in the hallway with Watermelody. She later appears in the cafeteria when the Dazzlings begin to brainwash the students, and as a spectator for the Battle of the Bands.

Rainbow Rocks animated shorts[]

In Player Piano, Velvet Sky makes a background appearance walking and talking to Scribble Dee outside the school, and later appears standing in the crowd of students crowing the hallway as Rarity and the Diamond Dogs push through a piano. In A Case for the Bass, she appears looking at a frying pan at a garage sale at Sweet Apple Acres. In Shake Your Tail, she appears in the audience during the Rainbooms’ concert in the gym. In Perfect Day for Fun, she makes several background appearances attending the CHS carnival, in a line to a photo booth, as a silhouette, and attending the Rainbooms' concert.

Equestria Girls: Friendship Games[]

In Friendship Games, Velvet Sky first appears attending the CHS Pep Rally in the school gym. She later has a speaking role greeting the human Twilight Sparkle in the school hallway while walking with Bright Idea, mistaking her for Princess Twilight Sparkle. She later appears attending the welcome party for Crystal Prep Academy in the gym, and in Cranky Doodle's classroom during the announcement for the Friendship Games. During the games, she appears as a spectator for all three events. During the final event, she and Fleur de Lis are saved from falling into a rift to Equestria by Rarity and later by Indigo Zap and Lemon Zest. During the film credits, she appears in a photograph at the pep rally.

Friendship Games animated shorts[]

In All's Fair in Love & Friendship Games, Velvet Sky appears standing in the CHS foyer with Rose Heart and Mystery Mint. She later appears watching tryouts for the Friendship Games, and looking at the list on the bulletin board containing the names of the students who made the team roster.

Equestria Girls: Dance Magic[]

In Dance Magic, Velvet Sky briefly appears walking in the Canterlot Mall.

Equestria Girls: Mirror Magic[]

In Mirror Magic, Velvet Sky first appears as a background character standing on the second floor of the Canterlot Mall with Scribble Dee, and they later appear together walking on the second floor above the food court. Velvet Sky later appears at the mall's movie theatre with Unnamed Woman #2 waiting to be served popcorn by Juniper Montage. When Juniper commands her magically-enchanted mirror to make them go away, they walk away when nothing happens. Velvet Sky later appears walking with Scribble Dee on the second floor again when a transformed Juniper Montage begins her rampage in the mall. They later appear watching after Juniper transforms back.

Equestria Girls: Summertime Shorts[]

In A Photo Booth Story, Velvet Sky makes a background appearance dancing at the Fall Formal. In Raise This Roof, she appears watching the dance-off at the Formal. In Steps of Pep, she plays a chess game against Varsity Trim in the school gym. When she wins, the audience members carry her away. In Subs Rock, she attends a class with Principal Celestia as the substitute teacher. In The Art of Friendship, she works on a clay sculpture with Wiz Kid in art class. After they finish, they are suddenly doused with paint as Pinkie Pie works on her painting. In Epic Fails, she appears in Rarity and Sunset Shimmer’s flashback reading at a table in the CHS library, sitting in front of Micro Chips. In Coinky-Dink World, she makes a background appearance walking by the Sweet Snacks Café with Indigo Wreath. In Good Vibes, she makes several background appearances as a patron of the Canterlot Mall, standing with Scribble Dee before walking away and waving her goodbye, walking with Bright Idea, and standing on the second floor near the top of the escalator with Golden Hazel.

Equestria Girls: Digital Series (season 1)[]

In School of Rock, Velvet Sky attends a school field trip to the Canterlot Natural History Museum. In Queen of Clubs, she appears as a member of the CHS chess, baking and science clubs. In Overpowered, she makes a cameo appearance walking in the CHS hallway using her phone. In Star Crossed, she makes a background appearance walking toward the Canterlot Planetarium with Scribble Dee. In Super Squad Goals, she appears in Sunset Shimmer’s comic book walking outside the Canterlot Natural History Museum with Scribble Dee.

In Best Trends Forever, she appears as a member of the Canterlot High news crew, operating a boom mic during a student newscast. In the Rainbow Dash ending of Fluttershy's Butterflies, she briefly appears competing in the soccer match between her team and the Shadowbolts. In Text Support, she makes a background appearance walking outside the school. In the Pinkie Pie ending of Stressed in Show, she appears in a CHS hallway with Starlight and Sophisticata. In the Rarity ending of Driving Miss Shimmer, she makes a background appearance crossing a street. In Opening Night and Happily Ever After Party, she appears in the audience for the school play.

Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship[]

In Forgotten Friendship, Velvet Sky appears in Applejack's partially-erased memories of the final event of the Friendship Games, and later appears sitting at a table in the cafeteria with Thunderbass and in a photograph with Thunderbass and Sweet Leaves during Invisible.

Equestria Girls: Rollercoaster of Friendship[]

In Rollercoaster of Friendship, Velvet Sky appears as a patron of Equestria Land walking toward the light parade and later appears watching the parade. During Photo Booth, she appears watching the Rainbooms perform at the parade and in the audience for Rarity's fashion show.

Equestria Girls: Digital Series (season 2)[]

In Street Chic, Velvet Sky appears walking by the Carousel Boutique with Golden Hazel holding a cup of coffee, and watching Rarity film a video on summer fashions. In Schedule Swap, she appears sitting in an advanced physics class and later sitting in the cafeteria with Curly Winds and Wiz Kid during the first day of school. In Run to Break Free, she appears sitting in front of the school in front of Thunderbass.

In all three endings of Sock It to Me, she appears as one of Rainbow Dash’s teammates during a girls’ soccer game between CHS and CPA.

Equestria Girls: Sunset's Backstage Pass[]

In Sunset’s Backstage Pass, Velvet Sky appears during the first day of the Starswirled Music Festival in the security line, in the audience for PostCrush’s concert, and in the audience for Dirk Thistleweed’s concert. In subsequent time loops of that day, she also appears in the security line, in the audience for PostCrush’s concert and in the audience for the Dazzlings’ concert.

Equestria Girls: Holidays Unwrapped[]

In "Dashing Through the Mall", Velvet Sky makes a brief cameo in a line to a store at the Canterlot Mall. In "O Come, All Ye Squashful", she briefly appears in the school hallway laughing at the Equestria Girls in their cornucopia costumes along with her fellow schoolmates.
